great tip. bugs are one of the worst things you can get when camping. Itches all over the body. But camping is so great, and with the precautions for keeping bugs away, its one of the best trips you can do with your family.

Camping is fun...but it isn't when bugs and insects are around. But of course, you can never eliminate them, the best thing you can do is to bring in some protection and something that will drive them away. :) Thanks for sharing this article.

LOL! I could never imagine the first time I went to camp. It was a gruesome experience because we were attacked by mosquitoes. Although they are better than bugs, they were really annoying and it somehow disturbed the adventure. You guys have to read this to avoid these things happening!

Bugs can drive even the most patient person insane. I have found many of the bug repellents are not worth the price. Dirt on the skin seems to help, but most of us wouldn't want to go around looking like pig pin from the comics. Another option is just to put something the bugs want, say sugar water in a small container away from where you will be. This way the bugs go there and leave you alone. Another note campfire smoke helps keep bugs away too.

Yeah! Though you can make a big camp program yet you can't escape that bugs can ruin it, you are supposed to take special care of bugs precautions, they can irritate and make your trip go bad to worse, I got many useful information from this thank you...............

These are excellent tips! One thing I've found too is that as beautiful as it can be, lakeside camping in high bug season is not the best idea. Those nasty things love still water, so setting up camp a bit away from the ponds, lakes and even small streams. I'm going to try out Herbaria... never heard of it but sounds brilliant!

My husband and I have "tent" camped for 33 years. We HATE bugs. We found the best way to avoid them is to camp in late fall and early winter. A warm tent and down sleeping bags along with a campfire is our little piece of paradise! Love your blog.

Or you can make mosquito control a game with a tennis racquet shapped electronic bug zapper. No kidding! ...and it's pretty inexpensive too. I got mine at http://www.rvstoredirect.com/bug-swatter-electronic-p-9074.html
