Taken from a woman’s point of view, my friend April, who camps a lot wrote this piece for you. Enjoy!
Women may be domestic goddesses and they are just as capable of roughing it in the wilderness as men, but who says they want to? There is absolutely no shame in the need for a clean, quiet retreat in the outdoors where there is a choice—fishing or a fish restaurant. Which is why I bring you information on the cleanest, most convenient camping in America.
The most obvious place to visit is Big Bear, California. In Big Bear, The Honey Bear Lodge has an excellent reputation for convenience offering in-room spas, kitchenettes, and every level of cabin comfort at reasonable prices. There are basic rooms, rooms for couples, individual cabins for families and parties and even cabin homes! Honey Bear Lodge is also less than a half mile away from the eclectic shopping that Big Bear is known for and less than 5 miles away from Baldwin Lake Stables where you can take guided tours on horse back.
If, however, you’re looking for tent camping with the same amazing convenience in Big Bear, Holloway’s Marina and RV Park has everything you need! Flat sites with a view of the marina, playground activities for the kids, water sports, hiking, sight seeing. Holloway’s is a great way to save money, be safe and clean, and enjoy the wilderness at leisure.
For something a little more exotic, Lake Powell, near Flagstaff, Arizona, is a beautiful location. There, The Camping Guy recommends Page Lake Powell Campground and RV Park where safety, cleanliness, friendliness and wide open spaces are just the beginning of what this park offers. In addition, Lake Powell Campground and RV Park also sports clean restrooms, an on-site convenience store, an indoor pool and spa, hiking guides, tours and brochures. And since Powell is less than 100 miles away from The Grand Canyon, a trip there, without the headache of camping crowds, is a welcome addition to this clean, convenient get-away. And the highlight of this trip would be a kayaking expedition at Kayak Powell where you can rent kayaks and head out alone or experience a guided tour.
Last but certainly not least, is the exotic holiday that awaits you on Balboa Island, California. Near the island there is safe, clean, fun camping at Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort. The Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort offers relaxation in style with their RV Park, cottages, and tent sites within walking distance of their cafe, shopping, and swimming. They also offer tons of water sports including sail boating and water skiing. For night time activities, the resort offers ‘movie on the beach,’ a wonderful opportunity to cuddle up on a blanket in front of a massive big screen for a popular movie, a fire pit, treats, and a beautiful sunset. Not enough? Rent a golf cart and scour the area for more shopping and activities!
To ensure the best, safest and most modern vacation, make sure to get reservations long in advance. These great locations refrain from over-populating their campgrounds so openings are often limited.
