Easy Camping Cook Kit

To make any meal preparation easy I have a Cook Kit that has the essentials for cooking my campout meals.  I got this large box with a fold over lid from the local hardware store and it fits just about all I need.  Here’s a couple of pictures of it.

Now let me describe what’s in it.

  • I have a pots and pan set that fits inside of each other so it saves space.
  • A non-stick frying pan
  • A metal and a plastic spatula/flipper
  • Cutting board, knife and fork
  • Can opener
  • A mixing wisk
  • Aluminum foil
  • Eating Utensils – the hard plastic washable kind and of course lots of disposable ones!
  • Lots of cups – the hard plastic washable kind and disposable ones too!
  • Matches and a long electric lighter
  • Paper towels and plastic bags (for leftovers and to wrap food in)
  • Spices (salt, pepper, garlic salt, etc.)
  • Coffee maker and coffee (brown sugar too)
  • Some spare food – I have a couple of packages of Macaroni and Cheese and a can of Ravioli, just in case I run out of food or for emergencies.
I also have a similar one for cleanup.

So, with my Cook Kit, a stove, BBQ, a workplace/cutting area, and all the meal’s ingredients from the cooler, I’m ready to cook up a storm!

Here’s some recipes that you can ‘WOW’ the kids with:
